Regular Season Round 6: Agustinos - Gijon Basket 66-67

There was a small surprise in Leon where top-ranked Gijon Basket (1-0) edged 7th ranked Agustinos (1-3) 67-66 on Saturday. Guard Jose-Antonio Lopez (190-96) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Fernando Fernandez (201-89, college: HLGU, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Miguel Dominguez (197-95) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and David Arija (192-2) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Agustinos' coach Beatriz Pacheco tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gijon Basket left bottom position moving up to third place in Group A-C, which they share with PBB and Obradoiro S. Newly promoted Agustinos dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Gijon Basket will face league's leader Chantada at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
