Regular Season Round 6: CBSFDO - Xerez 90-77

There was a surprise result in San Fernando where eleventh ranked CBSFDO (1-3) beat higher ranked Xerez (2-2) 90-77 on Saturday. Xerez was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Arsenio Cordero (-95) scored 23 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and center Iago Paz (201-91) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Five CBSFDO players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Uchechi Ogbonna (196-92, college: Daemen) with 26 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Victor Nickerson (203-92, college: Valpo) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CBSFDO left bottom position moving up to ninth place in Group D-B. Newly promoted Xerez keeps the fifth position with two games lost. CBSFDO will have a break next round. Xerez will play at home against Huelva CD (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
