Regular Season Round 6: KAZL Split - Pula 59-76

An interesting game for Pula (4-2) which played road game in Split against 4th ranked KAZL Split (1-3). Third ranked Pula had an easy win 76-59. Pula held KAZL Split to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded KAZL Split 52-41 including 38 on the defensive glass. American forward Kelli Schrauth (180-97, college: Cardinal Stritch) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Sara Plavljanin (170-89, college: SJSU) supported her with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Pula's coach Ivan Dukic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) by guard Nika Lokica (178-3) did not help to save the game for KAZL Split. Center Andrea Maric (195-97, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 9 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks. Pula moved-up to second place. Newly promoted KAZL Split dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Pula will meet at home league's leader Ragusa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KAZL Split will play against Zadar (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
