Regular Season Round 11: Centauros - Cangrejeros 84-75

Very expected game when 11th ranked Cangrejeros (2-8) were defeated on the road by third ranked Centauros (8-2) 84-75. Centauros dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cangrejeros' 30. They outrebounded Cangrejeros 42-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Centauros players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Michael Flores (192-85) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) accounted for 12 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Four Centauros players scored in double figures. Swingman Kevin Lemus (183-95) came up with 16 points and swingman Alvaro Rodriguez (195-99) added 11 points respectively for Cangrejeros in the defeat. Cangrejeros' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Centauros. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Guaiqueries and Gigantes. Cangrejeros lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Centauros will play against Gladiadores (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cangrejeros will play against Broncos and hope to get back on the winning track.
