Regular Season Round 8: Arka Gdynia - Poznan 99-62

EBLK top team - Arka Gdynia (7-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Poznan (2-4) 99-62. They outrebounded Poznan 39-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Arka Gdynia players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international forward Amalia Rembiszewska (190-96) who helped to win the game recording 28 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and Greek forward Artemis Spanou (187-93, college: RMU) who added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Arka Gdynia's coach Gundars Vetra felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian point guard Jovana Popovic (173-90) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and American power forward GMrice Davis (189-96, college: Fordham) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Arka Gdynia have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-0 record. Poznan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Sosnowiec. Arka Gdynia will play against Wroclaw (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Poznan will play against Gorzow Wlkp. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
