The winners were led by American power forward Erin Mathias (193-95, college: Duke) who scored that evening 19 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Kamiah Smalls (178, college: JMU, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by Swedish guard Paulina Hersler (190-94, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for Battipaglia. Point guard Susanna Bisogno (161-2) added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Empoli moved-up to fifth place.
