An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Puerto Ordaz. First ranked Spartans faced 4th ranked Gigantes. Guests from Caracas (11-1) defeated host Gigantes (8-3) 69-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gigantes. They outrebounded Gigantes 42-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. Spartans players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for international center Windi Graterol (204-86, agency: Pro Sports) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) contributed with 7 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Albert Arias (194-89) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Luis Duarte (190-94) added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Gigantes. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spartans have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Gigantes at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Centauros.
