Regular Season Round 8: Gimle BBK - Tromso 93-70

BLNO top team - Gimle BBK (8-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Tromso (3-6) in Bergen 93-70. Gimle BBK held. American forward Chavares Flanigan (198, college: UW-Parkside) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. Anders Fjrestad contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. Gimle BBK's coach Audun Eskeland felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Nigerian forward Anthony Elechi (203-93, college: Morehead St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds and American-Jamaican power forward Phil Henry (203-91, college: ENMU) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tromso. Gimle BBK have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record. Tromso lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Fyllingen BBK. Gimle BBK are looking forward to face Baerum Basket (#4) in Bekkestua in the next round. Tromso will play at home against the league's second-placed Kongsberg and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
