Regular Season Round 6: Westside ET - Raholan P. 72-78

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Westside ET (5-2) against eleventh ranked Raholan P. (3-4) on Sunday night. Host Westside ET was defeated by Raholan P. in a tough game in Espoo 72-78. Westside ET was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 22-10 charge of Raholan P., which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 Westside ET turnovers. Strangely Westside ET outrebounded Raholan P. 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Lauri Tiainen (193-90) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Antti Ahonen (195-1) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Raholan P.'s coach Juho Jaakkola used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Eldar Skamo (198-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Sami Marouf (188-88) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Raholan P. moved-up to ninth place in 1st Division. Loser Westside ET dropped to the third position with two games lost. Raholan P. will meet higher ranked PeU-Basket (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Westside ET will play against Huima (#6) in Aanekoski and hope to secure a win.
