Regular Season Round 7: Almeda - Azulejos 38-53

Very predictable result when seventh ranked Azulejos (3-2) won against on the road bottom-ranked Almeda (0-5) 53-38 on Sunday. Azulejos held Almeda to an opponent 17.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 30.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Quite impressive performance for Eva Lacort (-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Ana Hernando (-90) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Alba Barneda answered with 9 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Claudia Baraut (182-94) added 4 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Almeda. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Azulejos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Real Canoe and Estepona. Almeda lost their fifth game in a row. Almeda at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with five games lost. Azulejos will face league's leader Barca CBS in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Almeda will play at home against Girona (#12) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
