Regular Season Round 12: Valencia - Zamarat 76-59
Date: November 22, 2020
Very expected game when 13th ranked Zamarat (2-9) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Valencia (12-0) 76-59. Valencia had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Australian guard Rebecca Allen (188-92, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 21 points and the former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) supported her with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Amy Okonkwo (188-96, college: TCU) did not help to save the game for Zamarat. Her fellow American import guard Brooke Salas (180-97, college: NM State) added 13 points. Valencia have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Avenida. Zamarat at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with nine games lost. Valencia's next round opponent will be league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zamarat will play at home against Socinsa Bembibre (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
