No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Coruna (3-4) beat at home 12th ranked Genero (1-6) 80-76 on Sunday. Quite impressive performance for Portuguese point guard Joana Ferreira (174-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists. Eugenia Filgueira (-95) contributed with 24 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Coruna's coach Jorge Carreira used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Carolina Mateo (187-0) answered with 24 points and Colombian guard Maria Delgado (173-96, college: Angelo St.) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Genero. Coruna moved-up to eighth place. Genero lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Coruna will face Aviles (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Genero will play against RC Celta and hope to win that game.
