Regular Season Round 12: Brillantes - Supersonicos 66-75

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Brillantes (1-10) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Supersonicos (7-4) 75-66. Supersonicos outrebounded Brillantes 44-24 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by power forward Alfredo-Tadeo Rodriguez (197-85) who scored that evening 13 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Morris Sierralta (190-87) supported him with 13 points. Four Supersonicos players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by Neill Ojeda (190-90) did not help to save the game for Brillantes. Juan Caraballo (190-99) added 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Supersonicos maintains fifth position with 7-4 record, which they share with Bucaneros. Brillantes lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with ten games lost. Supersonicos' next round opponent will be Cangrejeros (#10) in Maturin where they are favorite. Brillantes will play against Condores and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
