Regular Season Round 12: Gladiadores - Centauros 72-64

The most important game in the last round took place in between third ranked Centauros (8-3) and eighth ranked Gladiadores (6-5) on Sunday night. Centauros were defeated by Gladiadores in a tough game on the road 64-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Centauros. The best player for the winners was power forward Jesus Martinez (206-86) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Humberto Bompart (183-94) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gladiadores players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Michael Flores (192-85) who recorded 23 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) added 11 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gladiadores moved-up to seventh place. Centauros at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Gigantes. Gladiadores are looking forward to face Broncos (#8) in Caracas in the next round. Centauros will play at home against Gigantes (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
