Regular Season Round 15: Sendai 89ers - FE Nagoya 76-58

The game between third ranked FE Nagoya (8-7) and fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (11-4) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. FE Nagoya was defeated by Sendai 89ers in Sendai 76-58. It was a great shooting night for Sendai 89ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: ASU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach Dai Oketani used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) with 17 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sendai 89ers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fukushima. FE Nagoya lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Koshigaya A. and Kumamoto V.. Sendai 89ers is looking forward to face Tokyo Z (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. FE Nagoya will play against the league's second-placed Rizing (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
