Regular Season Round 7: Casablanca - Andratx 55-51

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Andratx (0-5) lost to eleventh ranked Casablanca (2-4) in Zaragoza 51-55 on Sunday. Casablanca forced 19 Andratx turnovers. Strangely Andratx outrebounded Casablanca 34-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for forward Beatriz Royo (176-91) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Beatriz Bollullo (181-93) contributed with 9 points for the winners. Colombian forward Luz Asprilla (183-92) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Julia Batalla (-1) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Andratx. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Casablanca moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Cortegada and Adareva. Andratx lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Casablanca will face league's second-placed Maresme in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Andratx will play against Sant Josep (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
