Regular Season Round 3: Mogi - Cerrado 81-75

Mogi used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Brasilia 81-75 on Monday night. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Mogi shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Fulvio de-Assis (186-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Wesley Ferreira (200-95) helped adding 18 points. The best for the losing side was American JC Fuller (194-94, college: W.Illinois, agency: Slash Sports) with 17 points and point guard Lucas Farina (186-95) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Five Mogi and four Cerrado players scored in double figures. Cerrado's coach Bruno Lopes rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mogi will meet Paulistano (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cerrado will play against Minas (#5) in Belo Horizonte and hope to win that game.
