Important game to mention about took place in Porlamar. Second ranked Guaiqueries (10-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Bucaneros (7-5) 67-66 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bucaneros. International Gendric Correa (190-95) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Leonardo Palacios (186-94) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Four Guaiqueries players scored in double figures. At the losing side international forward Elder Gimenez (186-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jovanni Diaz (203-90) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Bucaneros' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Guaiqueries have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-2 record behind leader Spartans. Bucaneros at the other side keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Gladiadores.
