Regular Season Round 9: Albino - Moncalieri 57-62

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Albino (2-7) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Moncalieri (5-1) 62-57 on Wednesday. Moncalieri dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Albino's 24. Moncalieri forced 19 Albino turnovers. Albino was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Erica Reggiani (173-94) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and DR Congolese center Lydie Katshitshi (185-98) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Moncalieri players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Greta Laube (173-1) with 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Patrizia De-Gianni (190-88) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Moncalieri moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser Albino keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Moncalieri will face Mantova (#6) at home in the next round. Albino will play against Ponzano (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
