Regular Season Round 9: Aulnoye - Chartres 105-59

The game between second ranked Chartres (4-2) and sixth ranked Aulnoye (4-2) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Chartres was crushed by Aulnoye in Aulnoye 105-59. Aulnoye shot 31 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Chartres only scored twelve points from the stripe. Aulnoye forced 26 Chartres turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by Chartres helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Shanavia Dowdell (188-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Areus Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). Power forward Stepha MBaye (181-95) chipped in 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Aulnoye players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Yohana Ewodo (183-1) who recorded 11 points and 5 rebounds and guard Camille Hillotte (182-1) added 11 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aulnoye moved-up to third place, which they share with Reims and Chartres. Aulnoye is looking forward to face league's leader Angers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chartres will play against CFBB and is hoping to win this game.
