Regular Season Round 16: Ibaraki R. - Fukushima 94-77

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Fukushima (11-5) against fourth ranked Ibaraki R. (11-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Fukushima was defeated by Ibaraki R. in Mito 94-77. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fukushima. Ibaraki R. made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: NM State) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Fukushima. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ibaraki R. moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Fukushima. Ibaraki R. will again play against Fukushima (#4) at home in the next round. Fukushima will have a break next round.
