Regular Season Round 8: Granada - Estepona 64-54

Granada has finally registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Estepona (3-3) 64-54 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Trinidad and Tobago-Vincentian center Verdine Warner (194-92, college: Shaw) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Argentinian power forward Ornella Santana (183-90) who added 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. American guard Sierra Moore (180-94, college: Penn St.) responded with 19 points and 4 steals and point guard Anne Senosiain (162-97) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Granada (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Castello. Newly promoted Estepona dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Granada will face league's leader Unicaja in Malaga in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
