Regular Season Round 8: A3 Basket - Mark 100-68

Bottom-ranked Mark is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked A3 Basket (5-2) 100-68. It looked good early as Mark took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then A3 Basket had a 29-18 second period charge getting the lead and Mark was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-100. A3 Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Mark's 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Mark's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) who scored 23 points and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). German center Ama Degbeon (188-95, college: FSU) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four A3 Basket players scored in double figures. Guard Stina Almqvist (181-2) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Fallyn Freije (183-96, college: Montana St.) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. A3 Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lulea Basket and Hogsbo. Mark at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. A3 Basket's next round opponent will be Sodertalje (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Mark will play against Helsingborg and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
