Regular Season Round 9: COR Victoria - Olimpia 59-81

The game in Brest supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Olimpia (7-2) played at the court of 7th ranked COR Victoria (2-7). Olimpia smashed COR Victoria 81-59 on Sunday. The game without a history. Olimpia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Olimpia forced 27 COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 50-34 including 21 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Yana Goliakova (183-1) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (165-1) chipped in 11 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Daria Panasyuk (176-96) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Anastasia Babak (180-2) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Olimpia. They maintain third place with 7-2 record behind leader Gorizont. Loser COR Victoria dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Olimpia will face league's leader Gorizont in Minsk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. COR Victoria will play on the road against BDU Tsmoki (#4) in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
