Regular Season Round 17: Tokyo Z - Sendai 89ers 74-71
Date: November 29, 2020
A very interesting game took place in Tokyo. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Sendai 89ers (12-5) to seventh ranked Tokyo Z (3-14) 74-71 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sendai 89ers. Tokyo Z made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: NSU) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Kotaro Hisaoka (180-97) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) produced 9 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: ASU) added 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Sendai 89ers' coach Dai Oketani tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tokyo Z maintains seventh place with 3-14 record. Sendai 89ers at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. Tokyo Z's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kumamoto V.
