Regular Season Round 7: LrNMKY - Kipina 93-82

There was a surprise result in Lappeenranta where eleventh ranked LrNMKY (3-4) beat 4th placed Kipina (5-3) 93-82 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by LrNMKY. Kipina was better in second period 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. LrNMKY forced 25 Kipina turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Kipina's players. Forward Gleb Sokolov (196-99) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Aubrey Conerly (183-83, college: Jacksonville) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four LrNMKY players scored in double figures. American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) produced a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 21 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and forward Sami Mantymaa (193-88) added 20 points respectively for lost side. LrNMKY moved-up to tenth place in 1st Division. Newly promoted Kipina dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. LrNMKY will face league's leader PuHu Juniorit in Vantaa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kipina will play at home against FoKoPo (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
