Regular Season Round 8: Genero - RC Celta 41-56

Not a big story in a game in Las Palmas where 13th ranked Genero (1-7) was defeated by fourth ranked RC Celta (6-2) 56-41 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Celia Garcia-Panuero (180-95, college: UIW) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian Maja Stamenkovic (187-91) who added 15 points during the contest. Mali Maimouna Haidara (181-4) responded with 6 points and 8 rebounds and forward Carolina Mateo (187-0) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. RC Celta moved-up to third place in Group A. Genero lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. RC Celta will face Aviles (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Genero will play against Rosalia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
