Osaka E. (#4) was upset in Nagano by seventh ranked Shinshu BW 73-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Osaka E.. They outrebounded Osaka E. 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Shinshu BW players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Yuta Osaki (179-94) contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Shinshu BW's coach Michael Katsuhisa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Osaka E.Four Osaka E. players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Shinshu BW maintains seventh position with 6-10 record. Osaka E. at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Shinshu BW's next round opponent will be Kyoto H. (#9) on the road. Osaka E. will play against the league's leader Tochigi B. (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
