Regular Season Round 14: Shaanxi - Hunan 92-90

Seventh-ranked Hunan (6-7) gave a tough game to third ranked Shaanxi (10-3) in Xian. Shaanxi managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hunan. Shaanxi had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Swingman Jian Dong (193-96) notched 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Yan Gao (195-93) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds by center Qingfei Min (203-95) did not help to save the game for Hunan. Point guard Yuxin Deng (182-95) added 14 points and 4 assists for the guests. Four Shaanxi and five Hunan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shaanxi maintains third position with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Guangxi. Hunan at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Shaanxi will play against Chongqing (#6) in Lanling in the next round. Hunan will play against Wuhan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
