Regular Season Round 11: Wuhan - Sichuan 54-87

Bottom-ranked Wuhan is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to sixth ranked Blue Whales (8-2) 87-54. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Wuhan's 26 and had 22 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Wuhan only scored four points from the stripe. Blue Whales forced 21 Wuhan turnovers and had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Wuhan was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international Ting Shao (183-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard WangLai Zhang (172-94) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. Four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Xiu Li (178-94) responded with 16 points and center Xing Wen (191-90) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Blue Whales. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shanghai. Wuhan lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Blue Whales will play against Swordfish (#4) in Shanghai in the next round. Wuhan will play on the road against Sports Lottery (#13) in Penglai and hopes to get finally their first victory.
