Very predictable result when second ranked Minas (7-1) won against 14th ranked Brasilia (1-7) in Belo Horizonte 105-100. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Minas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Brasilia's 26 and made 28-of-31 charity shots (90.3 percent) during the game. Minas forced 19 Brasilia turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Brasilia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Joao-Paulo Batista (206-81, college: Gonzaga) fired 30 points and 9 rebounds for the winners.
