Regular Season Round 15: Anwil - Slask 93-78

There was a surprise result in Wloclawek where tenth ranked Anwil (7-8) beat 4th placed Kosynierzy (10-5) 93-78 on Thursday. Anwil looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) helped adding 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Anwil's coach Marcin Wozniak allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-97, agency: Octagon Europe) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Kyle Gibson (196-87, college: Louisiana Tech) scored 15 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Anwil. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with GTK Gliwice and King. Loser Kosynierzy dropped to the third position with five games lost. Anwil will face higher ranked BM Slam Stal (#6) in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kosynierzy will play on the road against Enea Astoria in Bydgoszcz and hope to win that game.
