Second Stage Round 3: Santo Andre - Ituano 70-72

Another exciting game for Ituano (1-2) which played on the court of Santo Andre (0-3). Ituano saved the game by a tiny margin of two points 72-70. Santo Andre was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Ituano forced 23 Santo Andre turnovers. Strangely Santo Andre outrebounded Ituano 59-45 including 18 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Palmira Marcal (178-84) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. The former international Izabella Sangalli (184-95) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Ariadna Felipe (184-83) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 23 rebounds and the former international point guard Lays Silva (167-98) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ituano will play against Sesi/Arara. in Araraquara in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santo Andre will play on the road against Vera Cruz and hopes to get finally their first victory.
