Regular Season Round 10: Tsmoki-Minsk - Gorizont 54-81

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Tsmoki-Minsk (9-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Gorizont (10-0) 81-54. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tsmoki-Minsk's 22. Gorizont had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Tsmoki-Minsk's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Yanina Inkina (188-97, college: UALR) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists. Gorizont's coach Nataliya Trafimava felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Britney Jones (174-87, college: UAB, agency: LBM Management) replied with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws) and the former international forward Ala Murauskaya (187-85) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tsmoki-Minsk. Gorizont have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Defending champion Tsmoki-Minsk keeps the second place with one game lost. Gorizont are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Gomel (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tsmoki-Minsk will play against COR Victoria (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
