Townsville Fire (#4) was upset in Townsville by seventh ranked Perth Lynx 84-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Townsville Fire. Perth Lynx players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by international Katie-Rae Ebzery (177-90) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) supported her with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Four Perth Lynx players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 5 rebounds by international guard Lauren Nicholson (183-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) did not help to save the game for Townsville Fire. Power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Perth Lynx (3-7) moved-up to sixth place. Townsville Fire at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Perth Lynx will play against higher ranked Adelaide Lightning (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Townsville Fire will play against the league's leader Canberra Capitals and hopes to get back on the winning track.
