Regular Season Round 10: Vigarano - Venezia 59-99

Serie A1 top team - Venezia (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Vigarano (0-7) 99-59. Venezia made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Venezia outrebounded Vigarano 42-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Martina Bestagno (189-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Gintare Petronyte (197-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Venezia's coach Giampiero Ticchi felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) replied with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Ukrainian power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Vigarano. Venezia have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Vigarano at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Venezia are looking forward to face Empoli (#4) at home in the next round. Vigarano will play against Lucca (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
