Regular Season Round 11: Stal Ostrow 2 - Koscian 80-87

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Stal Ostrow 2 (1-9) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Koscian (4-6) 87-80 on Saturday. Koscian outrebounded Stal Ostrow 2 49-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Michal Rybakowski (195-98) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Pawel Ciazkowski (190-86) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Koscian players scored in double figures. Koscian's coach Aleksander Ziobro allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Marcin Dymala (187-90) produced a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Marcin Plawucki (177-89) added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Koscian moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Stal Ostrow 2 lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. Koscian will face league's second-placed Rycerze in Rydzyna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stal Ostrow 2 will play on the road against Zary (#3) and hope to win that game.
