Regular Season Round 6: Aris - Promitheas 94-83

Promitheas (1-1) recorded its first loss in Thessaloniki on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Aris (2-1) 94-83. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. Promitheas managed to win second period 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Aris outrebounded Promitheas 49-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Promitheas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Quenton DeCosey (196-93, college: Temple) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Four Aris players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: FSU) who recorded 21 points and the former international forward Dimitris Agravanis (208-94, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aris moved-up to sixth place. Promitheas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with one game lost. Aris' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena PAOK.
