The game in Chengdu was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Swordfish (8-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Blue Whales (9-2). Blue Whales managed to secure a 9-point victory 76-67 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Swordfish. Blue Whales looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Song Song (188-92) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard WangLai Zhang (172-94) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Yingyun Li (173-95) who recorded 16 points and 5 assists and Taiwanese Szu-Chin Peng (163-91) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Swordfish's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blue Whales have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Swordfish dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Blue Whales will meet at home league's second-placed Jiangsu Phoenix in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Swordfish will play against Wuhan and hope to secure a win.
