Regular Season Round 6: Charilaos - Iraklis 68-71

Another exciting game took place in Mesolongi where fifth ranked Iraklis (4-2) edged by three points one of their biggest challengers Charilaos (3-3) 71-68. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a good game for Canadian guard Olivier Hanlan (193-93, college: Boston Coll., agency: Wasserman) who led his team to a victory with 14 points. American swingman Scott Suggs (197-89, college: Washington) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Chad Brown (207-96, college: UCF) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Ioannis Chatzinikolas (196-95) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Charilaos. Four Charilaos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Iraklis moved-up to third place, which they share with Peristeri GS. Charilaos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Iraklis will play against league's leader AEK in Athens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Charilaos will play on the road against Lavrio (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
