Ironi Kiryat Ata's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Hasharon (2-2) on the road game in Hod Hasharon 78-75 on Saturday. Ironi Kiryat Ata looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ironi Kiryat Ata made 8 blocks. The winners were led by American point guard Marlain Veal (175-96, college: SE Louisiana) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists and the other American import forward Elijah Hirsh (203-97, college: Berry) supported him with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by guard Harol Dadon (193-98) did not help to save the game for Hasharon. American guard Xavier Moon (188-95, college: Morehead St.) added 20 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Ironi Kiryat Ata (1-2) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. Loser Hasharon dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with H.Ramat Gan. Ironi Kiryat Ata will again meet at home Hasharon (#11) in the next round. Hasharon will play against the league's second-placed Ironi Ashkelon having rather not much hope for a victory.
