Regular Season Round 3: Pistoia - Latina 81-70

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Pistoia (1-2) defeated at home higher ranked Latina (1-3) 81-70 on Saturday. American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Pistoia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Fabrizio Piccone (182-98) with 21 points and forward Gabriele Benetti (200-95) scored 13 points. Pistoia left bottom position moving up to eighth place in A2. Loser Latina dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Pistoia will face league's leader Scafati on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Latina will play against Chieti (#12) and hope to win that game.
