Regular Season Round 13: Tsmoki-Minsk - Gomel 99-60

Very expected game when 10th ranked Gomel (1-9) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (9-1) 99-60. The game without a history. Tsmoki-Minsk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Gomel's 28. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 25 Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 42-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Gomel's players. Center Vadzim Stubeda (205-0) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Uladzislau Blizniuk (181-99) accounted for 9 points and 10 assists. Tsmoki-Minsk's coach Rostislav Vergun felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Timofey Verevkin (187-93) came up with 18 points and 5 assists and swingman Yegor Dudov (192-98) added 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Gomel in the defeat. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Tsmoki-Minsk. Defending champion maintains third place with 9-1 record behind leader Grodno. Gomel lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk's next round opponent will be Brest (#8) at home which should be theoretically another easy game. Gomel will play against RGUOR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
