Regular Season Round 3: Podgorica - Buducnost 60-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Podgorica (2-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Buducnost (2-0) 96-60. Buducnost dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Podgorica's 28 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Podgorica 46-24 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Buducnost looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Podgorica's players. 25 personal fouls committed by Podgorica helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Marija Lekovic (166-97) who scored 24 points and 6 assists. International swingman Milena Jaksic (178-98) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Buducnost players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Teodora Pavicevic (175-3) who recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Ksenija Scepanovic (186-0) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Buducnost will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Podgorica's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face again at home their local rival from Podgorica Buducnost.
