1Liga top team - Gornik (11-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Miasto Szkla (5-5) in Walbrzych 97-68. They outrebounded Miasto Szkla 48-32 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gornik looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86, agency: Promotex) fired 27 points for the winners. Center Damian Cechniak (210-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Gornik's coach Lukasz Grudniewski felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Alan Czujkowski (199-90, agency: Promotex) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and Bartosz Ciechocinski (203-91) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gornik have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-2 record, which they share with Czarni. Loser Miasto Szkla dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Gornik will meet Pelplin (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Miasto Szkla will play against Lancut (#6) and hope to secure a win.
