Regular Season Round 9: Viladecans - Sant Adria 74-71

A very close game took place in between Viladecans and Sant Adria. Sixth ranked Viladecans (5-3) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Sant Adria (4-2). Viladecans managed to escape with a 3-point win 74-71 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sant Adria. Viladecans forced 25 Sant Adria turnovers. Marta Guerrero (-92) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and power forward Silvia Marcelo (188-93) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Sarah Saba (179-96, college: Daemen) with 13 points and French forward Tania Pierre-Emile (191-95, college: ECU) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Viladecans moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Alcobendas and GDKO Bizkaia. Loser Sant Adria dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Segle XXI. Viladecans will meet Andratx (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sant Adria will play against the league's leader Barca CBS (#1) and hope to secure a win.
