Rather predictable result in S'Arenal where fifth ranked Almansa (4-3) smashed 9th ranked Palma (1-5) 97-73 on Sunday. Almansa looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian Nikola Cvetinovic (203-88, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points. Point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93, agency: Promo Sport ID) helped adding 12 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Almansa players scored in double figures. Almansa's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Estonian point guard Kristian Kullamaee (194-99, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with 20 points and forward Jacobo Diaz (206-96, college: IUP) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Almansa moved-up to fourth place in Gold. Loser Palma dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Almansa will face higher ranked Castello (#3) in Castellon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palma will play on the road against the league's leader Granada (#1) and hope to win that game.
