We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Piombino was defeated at home by Flying Balls 80-72 on Sunday. Flying Balls outrebounded Piombino 44-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Alberto Bedin (202-99) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Swingman Nicola Mastrangelo (196-98) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Flying Balls players scored in double figures. Point guard Mattia Venucci (186-90, agency: SLN) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and Mirco Turel (195-94) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Flying Balls will face Cecina on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Piombino will play against Livorno Libertas and will have a slim chance for a victory.
