Regular Season Round 18: Shiga L-Stars - Sea Horses M. 60-83

B1 League top team - Aishin Sea Horses (13-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Shiga L-Stars (7-11) 83-60. Aishin Sea Horses shot 60.4 percent from the field. Aishin Sea Horses had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Shiga L-Stars' players. It was a good game for American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 30 points for the winners. Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-5 record, which they share with Kawasaki BT. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the seventh place with 11 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Dragonflies (#8) in Hiroshima in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against Osaka E. and hope to win that game.
