Regular Season Round 8: Calpe - Tabernes 75-79

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Tabernes (3-4) won against on the road 5th ranked Calpe (3-4) 79-75 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was center Lucas Blasco (197-98) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Jose-Maria Torres (183-94) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Tabernes' coach Igor Vukovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Jaime Ivars (186-94) produced 17 points and guard Joaquin Crespo (189-0) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Four Calpe players scored in double figures. Tabernes moved-up to sixth place in Group E-B, which they share with Calpe and UCAM Murcia 2. Tabernes will face higher ranked Cartagena (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
